Terra Chã Viewpoint
Terra Chã viewpoint offers a beautiful view over view over Calhau da Serra de Fora, the western coast of the island, Ilhéu das Cenouras, Ilhéu de Fora and Pico Branco.
A path runs from here, providing access to the summit of Pico Branco, given its name by a column of white rock and an abundance of Roccella sp. type white lichen.
This entire area is part of the European network of places of community importance - Natura 2000 Network -, where some cypresses (Cupressus macrocarpa), planted at the beggining of the last century, can be seen.
Close by can be found a stone house, used to support the reintroduction of endemic plant species and for conducting scientific studies.
