From August, 14th and 16th
The Our Lady of Grace Festival is one of the largest festivals on the island. This Festivity is for Porto Santo what the Monte Festivity is for Funchal. 14th August calls for a visit to the Graça Chapel, for an meeting of faith and tradition.
The Porto Santo island annually holds the Grape Harvest Festival, an event to be held on August,25th, where visitors may enjoy exhibits of all the grape varieties produced in the municipality.
August,28th and 29th
The Our Lady of Mercy Festival normally takes place on the last weekend of the month of August, in the centre of Porto Santo's village. This festival attracts many tourists to the island and is very intensely lived.
- 12-04-2022 The European Best Destinations Organization, an organization under the European Commission, which promotes culture and tourism at European level, recently distinguished, in the “Best Beaches in Europe” category, two beaches in the region in the top 5, namely, the beaches of Porto Santo (1st place) and Seixal (3rd place), in a selection that elected the 22 most voted beaches by travellers from around the world. - 16-12-2021 For the seventh consecutive year, Madeira Destination was elected by the World Travel Awards as the World´s Leading Island Destination 2021, in those that are considered to be the“ Oscars of tourism ”, in a gala that was held in virtual format. Read more
